So the eye doctor was great. I really liked him and Benjamin was awesome. Everything checked out well. I was a little worried, he was on oxygen for a long time and that can effect eye sight. He does have slight astigmatism which we're going to monitor. He goes back in 8mths. I'm so thankful. With his prematurity and issues things could have been very different. The occupational therapist came yesterday morning too.. That went really well. Benjamin lasted about 30min, which is pretty good. She noticed that he was getting better with tummy time..really pushing himself up. So she was happy with that. We still have to work on him getting his feet up..he's getting there. We see the physio therapist tomorrow so I'm sure she'll have some more suggestions. Yesterday Benjamin's lips were blue for a lot of the day. I gave him some ventolin and it helped, but I still wasn't happy with the way they looked. So we made a trip to the ER. We were fast tracked which was nice. It was really busy and I was worried about exposing him to more germs. But they took us back right away to a private room. The doctor saw him and listened to him and thought that his blue lip was possibly a stress response or poor circulation. I was worried about poor oxygen saturation..but as soon as they hooked him up to the monitor he was 99-100% right away. The doctor also listened to him and heard his wheeze. She said it sounded like bronchiolitis. But she didn't order any oral steriods which is great. She just told us to keep using his puffers. So I'm glad we went just to be sure. Other then that we're laying low...

We're still dealing with a wheezy baby. Benjamin's new inhaler could take up to 4 weeks to fully affect his asthma. I hate hearing him squeak...when he gets worked up he's really loud. Anyways, he's happy so that's good. He is starting to sleep better. We haven't really gotten into a napping routine through the day...but its my fault, I don't try real hard. At night though Benjamin goes down at 7pm and has been sleeping around 5 hours. I love my evenings. Everyone is asleep by 8pm and its a nice break. Tomorrow we have the occupational therapist coming in the morning and then we see the eye doctor late morning. I am anxious. This will be Benjamin's first eye exam since being discharged from the NICU eye doctor. I hope all is well. Nothing appears to be off. Benjamin always seems to be able to see fine, but we'll just have to see. Benjamin has found his hands.. I notice him staring at them a lot. He seems to be fascinated with them. He is also grabbing everything...my hair, face, anything I'm holding. I have to really watch him now. He is also starting to make more sounds like ba ba which is something the OT is looking for, sounds that start with consinents....everyday I notice him doing new things. Its great. Anyways, I will post about his eye appointment tomorrow.

We had a great visit with the allergist. She is fabulous and really great with Benjamin. She tested him for 7 allergins and all came back negative. So that's good for now. She said that it doesn't mean later on in life he can't develop an allergy, but as of now the tests were negative. She did listen to him and heard his wheezing. She changed his steroi

d inhaler to a different one. We are going to start on a higher dose and then work our way down. We go back and see her in a month. I was very happy with how it all went. Hopefully we can get it under control and he won't have the coughing and wheezing he's been having. Anyways, thats about it for now.

Things are good here. We went back to the doctor on Monday. The good news is Benjamin's lungs are clear, no infections..bad news is his coughing and wheezing may be asthma. Tomorrow we have an appointment with an allergist so we'll know more then. It was nice that he rushed the referral and we got in so fast. Benjamin is still wheezy, but his usual funny self. Yesterday he finally really started laughing. He'd giggle here in and there, but is pretty cheap when it comes to laughing. But he really got going and Uncle Jeff and Aunt Karen's house when Avery was playing with their puppy. It was pretty cute. Next week we finally have an eye appointment. We had to cancel the last one because of the funeral..so we're a little late with it, but I'm anxious to see what the dr. will have to say about Benjamin's eyes. We also have the OT coming and we go to St. Joes to see the phsyio therapist...so it will be busy. I hope the PT will notice a difference with Benjamin. I think the biggest issue is that Benjamnin hates physio of any type and he's really just starting to protest. I won something called a Tumzee which is to help with tummy time. Its cute and he seems to like it in small doses. Anyways, I'll let everyone know how the allergy doctor goes tomorrow. Hopefully we can get down to the bottom of it.

Benjamin is ok. The pediatrician perscribed 5 days worth of prednisone for Benjamin's breathing issues. The doctor said he was in "respiratory distress". So he'll take that along with his puffers. Today he was still pretty wheezy but he is happy and eating like a horse as usual. I honestly thought that starting solids would lighten the nursing load, but I swear he nurses just as much as before. His cough also seems a bit more dry then yesterday, so hopefully we're heading in the right direction. Anyways prayers for health are always welcome. We are definitely looking forward to spring.

Things are ok here. Benjamin is still not feeling great. We're heading to the pediatricians in about an hour...hopefully we can avoid emerge. He's very muscousy and has coughing fits that last 5 minutes. I feel bad for him. So hopefully the pediatrician can help him out. I had Benjamin weighed yesterday and he is now 19lbs 5oz. Its crazy how big he is. Anyways, I will keep everyone posted on how things go today.

Things are good...Benjamin seems to have a bit of a cold, but nothing to major. It seems to be similar to what he had last time, a cough and some wheezing. But we have his puffers on hand so I think we'll be able to manage. I feel a bit under the weather too, so its no surprise. He's still happy and eating very well so we're good. Benjamin is really enjoying eating solids. He has had sweet potatoes, carrots, and bananas. He loves it all. I've made sweet potatoes, carrots, beans, peas, and squash. I'm going to do fruit to.. Today we had a major breakthrough. Benjamin rolled all by himself. He was doing some tummy time and he rolled from his tummy to his back with no help. We were so excited. He didn't seem like he was even close to getting there and then all of a sudden he was over. I'm so excited. Anyways..we have no appointments for Benjamin next week so I'm happy about that....we're going to lay low and just get better.
